Tutors: Auburn Claire Lucas

Prior to her studies at the RSN, Auburn won a First Class Degree in Historical Costume for Film and Theatre. She also completed an Apprenticeship with a Savile Row Tailor, where she still works part time alongside working as a freelance costumier.

In 2016 Auburn was awarded a scholarship by the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and was named 'Student of the Year' on the RSN Future Tutors programme.

As well as teaching embroidery Day Classes and on the Summer Intensive Certificate & Diploma for Technical Hand Embroidery for the RSN at Hampton Court Palace, Auburn has taught at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, The British Library and the Knitting & Stitching Shows in London and Dublin.

Throughout her time at the RSN she has worked on numerous high-profile collaborations such as with Burberry's 'Maker's House', in partnership with the New Craftsmen, Nicholas Oakwell Couture's feather gown for the GREAT Britain Campaign and renowned artist Cornela Parker's 'Magna Carta (An Embroidery)'.
