Tutors: Jessica Aldred

After completing her RSN Apprenticeship, Jessica went on to work in costume at the Royal Opera House, buying and maintaining the materials used to make the costumes. She later returned to the RSN where she worked for four years as Education Coordinator, running Day Classes in the UK and the Certificate & Diploma courses in the USA. During this time Jessica was a member of the team that embroidered the wedding dress and veil for HRH The Duchess of Cambridge. She has recently taught Certificate & Diploma in the United States.

Jessica has co-authored a book with Emily Peacock, Adventures in Needlework, published by Guild of Master Craftsman Publications and wrote a stitch manual for Fine Cell Work, a charity that teaches needlework to long-term prison inmates.

Jessica now lives in Yorkshire where she works for an arts organisation for adults with disabilities. She continues to teach embroidery as well as carrying out a variety of design and embroidery commissions.
