Class Dates: Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 May 2018

In this two day class you will learn five Metalwork techniques including couching, cutwork and s'ing, worked over layers of  felt and soft string padding. In addition to this you will also learn to cut out and apply a 3D couched  couched leaf to camouflage your exotic beast!

Once completed this can be mounted and hung in the little wooden hoop provided. The finished embroidery measures approximately 10x11cm.

This class is suitable for all levels although some experience would be an advantage.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU

Goldwork
This technique has its history in military, ecclesiastical and royal regalia, but it also creates the most beautiful and dramatic embroideries. Using a wide variety of metal threads, it can be combined with other techniques to produce luxurious effects.
