Opus Anglicanum is widely considered to be the pinnacle of hand embroidery technique. It was often used as currency within diplomatic power play of the Medieval period. This one day experimental class class will specifically focus on exploring the effect of shading and garments as well as looking at underside couching patterns..

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class will run from 10am- 4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU

Opus Anglicanum
Opus Anglicanum or English work is fine needlework of Medieval England done for ecclesiastical or secular use on clothing, hangings or other textiles, often using gold and silver threads on rich velvet or linen grounds.
