This course has already taken place.

This is a developing class and would best suit someone with some stitching experience. The idea behind this is to work a project that is a little bigger with lots of stitch variety, to really gain confidence in working some of the stitches that take more practice.

This design includes a wide variety of stitches. Included are: long and short, satin, stem, bullion knots, French knots, fly, Cretan, trellis, raised stem, block shading, brick, woven wheels, ribbed wheels, pistol, seeding, turkey rug, chain, heavy chain and split stitch

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU

This technique has its history in military, ecclesiastical and royal regalia, but it also creates the most beautiful and dramatic embroideries. Using a wide variety of metal threads, it can be combined with other techniques to produce luxurious effects.

Jacobean Crewelwork
Crewelwork is an ideal technique
for anyone new to embroidery. Introducing a range of stitches and an element of shading, this technique can be used for traditional and contemporary designs.
