This course has already taken place.

The final instalment of this progressive looks at more advanced ways of using silk shading as a technique, often used to create natural looking birds and animals. This three day class will be working a kingfisher design sitting on a textured branch. Often when working more advanced silk shading designs it is possible to manipulate and break some of the rules that you are traditionally bound to.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU

Silk Shading
Also known as ‘painting with a needle’, this beautiful technique uses a number
of colours in cotton, skillfully blended together to create the natural appearance of a flower, fruit, plant or animal.
