This course has already taken place.

This one day class will introduce you to the basics of hand quilting.  You will try out traditional English quilting which is worked through three layers of fabric, the centre layer being padding.  The shapes of the design are outlined and create an image in relief.  You will also try Trapunto during the day which is a form of stuffed quilting where individual areas of the design are made to stand out more than by the padding layer alone.  You will create a small design for a needle case.

Your kit will include all you need for the quilting and also to make up the needle case.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class will run from 10am- 4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey. KT8 9AU
