Class Date: Sunday 3 December 2017

This festive design combines ribbon embroidery with surface stitching using silk taffeta ribbons, cotton embroidery threads, and metal thread embellishment on silk Dupion fabric. Learn eight different ribbon embroidery stitches and techniques in one day. Practice stitching leaves, pine cones, berries, and three types of flowers with silk ribbons. Try hand-dyed materials which make every piece of embroidery look unique and life-like. Get hands-on experience working with silk ribbons of different widths – from fine 4mm-wide ribbons to the most common 7-mm wide ones.

During the class you will see demonstrations of all required techniques, as well as get individual attention from the tutor allowing you to develop your skills at your own pace. The class is suitable for students of any level of embroidery skills.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class will run from 10am- 4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey. KT8 9AU
