This course has already taken place.

Class Date: Saturday 2 December 2017

These delightful and bijoux creatures were created from images of Nicola's garden when dusted in winter frosts. 'Snowy Owl' and 'Sparkling Squirrel' are worked in a mixture of traditional Whitework techniques, including broderie anglaise, cut work and mountmellick, combined with pearl and crystal beads and sequins to give an irresistable shimmering effect.

Both projects are embroidered on a 40 count linen ground with DMC stranded cotton, DMC cotton a broder and DMC perle no.8 and 12, in a choice of bright white and pearly grey.  Students will explore satin stitch in all variations - slanted and with padding, cut work with buttonholebars, eyelets, satin darning patterns and trailing.
Developing, Intermediate and Advanced.

Design, Stitching and Copyright by Nicola Jarvis

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

This class runs from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey. KT8 9AU

The term applies to a variety of techniques, ranging from the bold stitches to more delicate work. Whitework traditionally uses white thread on white fabric in bridal and christening wear and ecclesiastical pieces. It also adapts well to contemporary designs
