Stumpwork or raised embroidery is a form of relief stitching that was popular in the mid 17th century.  The designs for stumpwork originate from printed pattern books and were often scenes including figures.

This two day class will introduce you to the basics of making a stumpwork figure.  You will learn how to make a padded body and face, wired hands and clothing. The design will be similar to the one above. The kit is included in the price.

This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey. KT8 9AU
