Donations

Every donation we receive means a great deal to us.  Donations help us to support our students, introduce new projects, test ideas and extend the reach of our work so that more people can benefit from our teaching skills, knowledge and experience. It costs around £550 per hour to run the RSN and we have to raise or earn all of this amount.

Donations can be made online, by cheque (made payable to Royal School of Needlework), or by debit or credit card payment over the phone (please call +44 (0)20 3166 6936).

Are you a UK taxpayer?
Then please help us make your donation go 25% further by signing a Gift Aid declaration.  If you are based in the USA and would like to support us please see below for details of how you can donate.

Gift Aid  - making your donation go 25% further
We hard work to ensure that every penny we raise goes as far as it can in helping us keep the art of hand embroidery alive.  Through Gift Aid you can help us make your donation go 25% further and it won't cost you a penny!

What do you need to do?
To donate through Gift Aid, all you need to do is complete a simple declaration confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and that you are happy for us to claim tax relief on your donation. Please tick the Gift Aid box when you donate online.  The RSN’s registered charity number is 312774

For donations in the USA - 501 (c) iii donations to the RSN
We do not currently have this method of donation set up, but it is possible to donate to us through CAFAmerica which has full US tax status. However, inevitably, there are some conditions:- 1) Donations have to be a minimum of $500.  2) As the intermediary, CAFAmerica will charge 8% of the donation as their administration fee.  3) You'll need to complete a special form and send this with your donation.  We will be happy to provide you with the form and please contact Dr Susan Kay-Williams  for further details.  We unfortunately cannot offer this service for smaller donations as the cost of registering independently is in the region of $15,000-$18,000 and would nullify the possible value of the gifts.
