Group tours

Group tours are for up to 24 people on private tours.  You can choose either a one hour 'quick' tour, a 1.5 hour standard tour or a 2 hour extended tour.   During all these tours you will learn about the RSN's history and development to the present day and you''ll see pieces from the RSN's Collection which are rarely seen on public view.  The 1.5 hour and 2 hour tours include a 30 minute seated presentation by a staff member, and the 2 hour tours also provide the opportunity to see, feel and touch items specially brought out from our handling collection. If your group has a particular area of interest please let us know in advance and we may be able to show you more specific items from our Collection.  There is sometimes an opportunity to see staff working on current Studio commissions, and we try to include work from current students on our Certificate, Diploma and Degree courses.

Tours are led by a team of dedicated volunteers who not only have a passion for embroidery but who have also had full training from RSN staff on the history of the RSN, the services we offer and the techniques we use. Many of the volunteers also conduct their own research into the history of embroidery and its contemporary usage.
