Embroidery courses for everyone

The Royal School of Needlework is the international centre for embroidery teaching based at Hampton Court Palace in south-west London.  Taught in small, friendly classes with expert tutors, we welcome all levels of experience and students from all over the world.  All our embroidery tutors have been trained at the RSN over a minimum of three years' full-time study and they bring to each student a wealth of experience, technical knowledge and enthusiasm.

Day Classes
We run a varied programme of classes throughout the year at weekends and during the school holidays at Hampton Court Palace.  Our classes are ideal if you’re a complete beginner or if you’re looking to learn additional techniques and develop existing skills.

Certificate and Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery

Covering a range of core embroidery techniques these courses allow you to work on a flexible programme to fit around work and family commitments.  Taught in small informal groups you’ll be given expert tuition to help you develop your skills to a high standard.  Courses are taught at Hampton Court, in Bristol, Durham, Glasgow and Rugby and in San Francisco and Tokyo, Japan and from 2013 in the Netherlands.
