Day Classes
Throughout the year we run a series of Introduction classes - all of these are suitable for students with little or no experience of embroidery, or for anyone who feels they need a refresher.
Progress to two or three day classes giving you the opportunity to explore a technique in more detail.
Certificated Courses
The RSN runs a technical course for students who wish to develop a high level of skill in hand embroidery. For a First Certificate study the four core techniques of Jacobean Crewelwork; Silk Shading; Canvaswork and Goldwork. Progress to work more techniques of your choice. This practical course runs throughout the year with a variety of attendance options. Venues - Hampton Court and Durham City in the UK and in San Francisco, USA
Two year Foundation Degree in Hand Embroidery
This new course will commence in September 2009 and is designed to produce skilled embroiderers, who have an individual approach to design and its execution. Our Graduates will be encouraged to become professionals, able to work in the many areas of textile and embroidery design; fashion, especially Haute Couture, costume, film and theatre, conservation and restoration, teaching, or as an individual designer/maker.
